I don't even contribute to this part of the board THAT much and I plan on posting here even less when the movie comes out. But I also don't contribute to topics that I'm blatantly skeptical about after I've said my piece.

Back when I had my (no longer existent) reservations about Man of Steel, I only popped into that thread every now and then. I didn't just sit there and counter any positive sentiment someone would express about the film.

I have zero faith in Transformers 4 and the new Spider-Man. I'll chime in and give my thoughts on whatever new developments there are, but I'm not gonna sit up there and make sure to let everyone who is genuinely excited know the exact reasons why I'm not and/or why they shouldn't be.

MouthForWar has your number on this. Cynicism is key in your posts. The optimism I tried to show you that you call delusional is no more so than your negativity. It goes both ways.

Indeed, you do sound like a more well spoken UltraSanto. It's disheartening that someone who appears to have a penchant of reasoning is revealed to have a lack thereof due to the "beat-over-the-head" approach of negativity. Despite evidence to the contrary you decide to look over what crew, production...etc... have said and, ultimately, claim their words aren't worth a damn-- lieing or not. I'm not sure what to tell you except the attitude toward the production is your own problem, not Edwards and not his crew.

Nobody has a clear positive outlook on the movie. Everyone here is just pleased on how things look on paper. Plus Godzilla hasn't had this much attention ever. The internet enhances our excitement over the thought of a new movie, especially on this scale. Everybody and their sister is taking pictures from sets. We are getting spoon fed little nuggets every week getting us pumped.

I personally hope for the best, expect the worst. It keeps my expectations in check. I just keep my "worst" comments down to a minimum cause it doesn't help the conversation. Also, expecting an absolutely dead nuts on faithful Godzilla movie is ludicrous.

This movie is a paper tiger and the only thing that will ruin it is poor execution. We have less than year until release and for all we know it could be the last. Just enjoy the ride.

Yikes! At least when people complain that a CG Godzilla misses out on all the character cause you can't see the seams and zippers we'll be able to point to Cranston's wig and say that it was a nod to that
