I was kind of feeling that way at first, but I honestly don't care... and so many of my favorite kaiju movies and Ultraman episodes are ones with alien invasions...

Besides, it sounds like this movie won't focus much on that and that's what the sequel would explore if it came to fruition. Which is actually what they probably should expand upon anyway if they do a sequel.
