IGN has an article stating that the film was put on hold to make sure we get the best possible outcome for the film. I don't blame them everything would have been rushed had they kept the date they originally wanted hopefully it's not a long delay.

I think we still could get it next year if not then 2015 might not so be bad, next year is kind of crowded.

But then again I was really looking forward to summer next year because three of my all time favorite franchises would have movies coming out (Godzilla, Spider Man and JP)

I doubt we'll be getting it next year or the year after.

You don't can your entire crew unless you're doing some major delays and revamps.
