I really don't understand movie release schedules especially when it comes to foreign markets :? . Sometimes (in this case "79% of foreign territories") get the movie in advance of the US premiere, wheras in some cases they dont get it until weeks, or months later.

I'm not one of these shallow idiots that thinks "Amerika is the best, we should get everything first". But I'm just trying to understand the marketing structure of a film to non U.S. territories and why such a huge difference.

I mean Japan got the first Transformers movie a week before the U.S., but didn't get TF:DOTM until almost 3 months after it's U.S. premiere. It just seems inconsistant and random is all.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Not sure if anybody has read any spoilers yet, but I feel like the end is going to be more divisive than people probably expect.

Highlight for spoiler:

So apparently Kingsley isn't the "real" Mandarin and there is a reveal at the end that he was just a front all along and Guy Pearce's eccentric millionaire character is the "real" Mandarin. The Kingsley version (the fake one) is a pretty faithful interpretation of the character, but Pearce's character would literally be Mandarin in name only. I don't really care because I'm not a fan of Iron Man beyond the films, but people really into Iron Man will probably be upset... I mean, Mandarin is his big baddie... imagine seeing a Batman movie and the Joker turns out to be a fake for some generic rich white guy to conduct terrorism elsewhere... that would be awful.

I'm conflicted... I imagine die hard IM fans might not be too happy.

As some of you may have heard (I don't think it was reported in this thread yet, but I might be wrong), the Chinese version of the movie has been recut to fit their... uh... culture more or something.

In addition to having brand new Chinese characters and scenes exclusive to this version, it is also loaded to the gills with ridiculous product placement.

For example:

[quote] As the houselights dimmed in cinemas across mainland China at around midnight on Tuesday, audiences attending the first wave of public screenings of Iron Man 3 fell silent with apprehension as a question appeared on screen: “What does Iron Man rely on to revitalize his energy?â€

Iron Man 3 - The movie was so well thought out, so good, that it also becomes a huge disappointment. There are events that occur within the movie that truly build up the suspense, and the outcome is so cleverly executed to the point that it ended up being a big let down as it made the last act of the movie boring because everything is played out so safe. The other issue with the movie is that it plays out just like you would expect from a comic movie. That is not to say it is a bad thing, but it leaves a lot to be desired. There is a lot of great dialog, one liners, and the scene after the credits is great, but the more comic movies we are getting lately are making appreciate Dredd more and more than I did before. IM3 is definitely worth seeing, it isn't as good as the first movie, but it is far superior to the second one. It's just that playing it safe and becoming predictable just made the roller coaster ride fizzle out.
