Don't be Afraid of the Dark - Never saw the TV movie that it's adapted from, so I can't say if it's better or worse. But it started off pretty creepy but quickly became dull. I know the creatures needed to be let out but if a creep voice, or voices, know my name and tell me to set them free, I'm not doing it. And even though the creatures were pretty creepy and had some good visuals (glowing eyes in the dark under the bed), they never seemed all too threatening. They could nearly kill a full grown man, but just can't seem to get a little girl. Love the premise and style, just wasn't executed well enough.
Dylan Dog - I think cute would be an appropriate word for this movie. Kind of fun, nothing is done really horribly just not all that great. Stylistically and effects wise, this is how I imagined a Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie would be like.
