KONGA (1961)

Dr.Decker comes back from Africa after a year, presumed dead. During that year, he came across a way of growing plants and animals to an enormous size. He brings back a baby chimpanzee to test out his theory. As he has many enemies at home, he decides to use his chimp, 'Konga' to 'get rid of them'. Then Konga grows to gigantic proportions and reaks havoc all over the city of London!!

Pretty fun film for sure, I thought it has some very exciting and entertaining highlights throughout & the suit they used I thought was pretty killer, also highly enjoyed the carnivorous exotic plants, how can you not....

Michael Gough as Dr. Decker is an ace performance as well, he plays the perfect skilled mad scientist! with a real sleek & sleazy side to him.

Any other fans?

boring

Postby Xenorama » Mon Jun 01, 2009 4:14 pm

it's boring. there's no giant ape action until the final bit of the movie, and even then it's not very good. have the Yongary/Konga disc, probably will never watch Konga. ever.

maybe

Postby Xenorama » Mon Jun 01, 2009 4:26 pm

I could have been appeased if Konga were left off the disc completely or replaced with a something, almost ANYthing else.

Yongary is a much better movie overall. Konga is mostly dialog about things that may happen, and it's such a long slog to get to it you don't care by the end. a movie about a giant ape should never be boring.

even Queen Kong is better than this movie.

I have to agree with David on this one. I thought this movie was boring as boring can be. Now if only Konga had fought The Creature of Uuang Ni in the film, then this film would have been one of the greatest films in the history of cinema!! :D

There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.
