Big jinx i suppose but here it goes. I am starting to get a feeling about this movie is very relatable to Jaws. Strong source material. Gojira, the novel Jaws. Young talented directors. Great character actors. Nearly unstoppable title monster. Dark and serious adventure film.
Not saying it will be. But the components are there to make something great.

Any concerns I had about this movie were abated by the level of talent working on the project. Gareth Edwards is a remarkably creative director (as shown by Monsters), the venerable Frank Darabont put the most recent polish on the script, and the cast is nothing short of superb.

Unless something drastic occurs, color me optimistic about this new Godzilla film.
