I am pretty stoked. Great choice of city. The Space Needle would be a great analog to the Tokyo Tower scene in the original.

The thing about L.A. anyway is that downtown where the large buildings are is not real close to the water AND it's a rather small collection of buildings. Everything else around it is quite small so it would not have quite the impact not to mention it would be "Why did they need to go where the big buildings are"

Seattle, Frisco, San Diego, the main city centers are all right on the water.

Don't get me wrong, I wanted San Diego for practical and selfish reasons "All the military bases, harbor access to the city, Coronado bridge and I'd love to see a scene where they have to detonate the presumed explosives on the Silver Strand to evacuate the Navy ships when Goji comes in to attack."

Seattle though would be epic, just please...no sponsored shots of Starbucks.

Assuming Seattle is the stomping grounds, I was a little annoyed that it wasn't Tokyo, but after looking at the skyline of Seattle I changed my mind. I like the contrast of tall buildings and how it immediately goes down to suburbia. Also I remember how Tull and Del Toro had a discussion about a land mark to be destroyed in Pacific Rim, and Tull said, "You can't that landmark is already taken for Godzilla." So I am assuming he was talking about the space needle.

at this point, right now, i would like a sequel.

ask me after the movie and i may feel differently, but i'm all for a new series of godzilla films. in fact, i'm all for what i would consider the first TRULY continuous series.

i know the Heisei series KINDA does that, but i've gone into reasons why i don't fully count it in the past and don't really feel like going into it again...i think it'd be fresh and different for a Godzilla story to take place over a period of several films.

Here are some other photos of Seattle that show why it would be a good backdrop:

Hope this is true. Seattle has always been my no. 1 choice. Marvel Godzilla 1 & 2.
First landfall in Alaska then south to Seattle.
