It's tricky. Edwards' Monsters was only 90 minutes long, and only Biollante and GFW have approached the 2-hour mark in the Godzilla series. On the other hand, because we're talking about a Hollywood summer movie, 2+ hours does seem perfectly reasonable. Still, for the sake of the bet, I'll say it'll be under 2 hours. If I'm proved wrong about that, at least others will be, too. :P

As for the footage Bluejira posted, it's pretty cool. My only real question is how a missile being transported on train tracks ends up in the middle of a national park without being launched. Are we getting a flying monster? I was gonna suggest that this comes before the shots with the train, but that's definitely a train car sticking out of the water. I guess we'll find out sooner or later.

The more people I see infuriated by mediocre fan re-designs, and less-than-stellar TOHO concepts, the more I want something radical. Just to laugh at everyone whose lives will be ruined.

Sorry. I should have stipulated "giant" monsters. I am a HUGE fan of Blacky Lagoon. Still hope they never remake his films. It/they would turn out all funked up.

Gotta love when the CEO of the picture company is a fan...to quote Thomas Tull:
On the subject of Godzilla, Tull once again confirms that they are aiming for the dark tones of the original as opposed to the campy nature of the 60s and 70s sequels, "it was very important for us to take it back to its original DNA in the first Japanese film, so just tonally it’s a much different movie. And with Godzilla, those of us who grew up with Godzilla, you kind of bring whatever pre-disposition you have to the movie and the experience. For us, all I can tell you is that we’re making the Godzilla movie that we want to see."

^ That was posted on twitter by a guy saying it was taken in Coquitalm.

If true, the new Godzilla movie probably takes place in Seattle (which is why they filmed in Vancouver).
