Although I doubt it'll ever happen, Bruce Campbell and Fede Alvarez said that if Sam Raimi ever makes another Evil Dead, it'll be called Army of Darkness 2 (presumably to differentiate it from the new series) and pick up from the last movie. And Alvarez has already said they're working on the script for a sequel to the new Evil Dead.

But apparently, Campbell says that if (IF) AoD 2 and the new ED 2 get made and are successful, that the next film (which would be the SEVENTH Evil Dead movie at that point) will have Ash returning and meeting up with the new ED characters.

This only further supports my theory that the new ED is Evil Dead 4 and takes place in the same world.

Sooooooo I just had the post-credits scene spoiled for me. In a way, having this spoiled made me even more excited.

HIGHLIGHT FOR MAJOR MAJOR SUPER DUPER SPOILER.

THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE.

SERIOUSLY, THIS IS A HUGE SPOILER.

The post credits scene sees Ash running into our survivor on the street, which pretty much cements the fact that this is Evil Dead 4, which is WHAT I GUESSED ALL ALONG. Maybe they're serious about doing Army of Darkness 2 and the Evil Dead 7 crossover after all! .

END SPOILER

I'm going wild!

^ [SPOILER]

sounds exactly like the same ending they tacked onto Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift in order to appease fans :-/ I'm looking forward to renting this but this scene will likely be groan worthy for that reason.

I don't see anything wrong with it even if (HINTING AT SPOILER)

it is to appease fans. Isn't that what Marvel has been doing all along? This jives with everything Bruce and Sam have been saying since the beginning anyway and it's already hinted at with Ashs car in the trailer. I am way happier to have this take place in the same timeline as the trilogy. Fan service isn't always a bad thing, as Marvel showed us. i dont think its any more groan worthy than Nick Fury at the end of Iron Man. And those bits of fan service in Iron Man and Tokyo Drift payed of when the sequels came around, so what's the big deal?.

The Marvel post credit scenes played as teasers for upcoming films whereas Tokyo Drift was more of a "see i told you this was a FF movie..." I really don't care as long as the movie is decent
