So is this the only place that this news of Takarada being in the film taken as good news? Cause it's all sour grapes on the facebook groups and other forums I go to.

I don't get it myself.

I think the folks in charge of this have a pretty good idea of how the character works, and listen to the fans to some capacity.

Something like this is a kind of olive branch to the fans, and the reaction in other places ranges from "meh", to "still an American Godzilla movie."

Some people just suck.

Relax a little, guys.

I don't know anyone who thinks this is anything bad. But I do know several people (myself included) who think that, while it's great they've got Takarada and it's indicative of how LP is listening to the fans, it's not going to MAKE this film, nor is it this fandom's defining gift that some are making it out to be.

This is definitely good news. But the almost orgasmic, larger than life way people are celebrating this strikes me as a little weird. This film isn't automatically going to be great just because LP got Takarada to make a cameo. People out there are acting like everything is going to be just fine now, which doesn't make sense to me. There's still sooooooooooooo much we don't even know about this movie yet.

Takarada in the film is a small little "bonus" to me. I had absolutely no thought that this film was going to magically be great because he has a cameo. However, it does show us that LP is more serious about this project then maybe people thought.... and much moreso then SONY.

Yeah-no idea who that guy is. Judging from his IMDB, looks like he's been in TV mostly. Pretty stoked about the Takarada cameo myself. I totally get the enthusiasm. I had zero expectation of it happening and whaddaya know it did. Its a great nod and gives me a lot of hope for the film.
