The first 20 minutes or so of GFW shows some promise, but right after the aliens teleport all the monsters away, the movie grinds to a dead halt dramatically...and it never recovers. It's all downhill after that. I don't like this movie. I think it's poorly made with few, if any redeeming qualities. To me it feels like the director made his own movie and threw in some token kaiju because "well...I suppose I should...I'm being paid to make a Godzilla movie...or something...I guess". Most of the movie is dreadfully boring...with overlong uninteresting fighting scenes. Conversely, the kaiju action is ridiculously short...again...feeling as if it was thrown in as an afterthought. It all looks terribly cheap too...despite having the largest budget of any Godzilla film(too much spent on boring Matrix style fights maybe?). I'm going to stop now. To those who like it...cool...more power to you...but I will never be part of that group.

I got drunk and wrote my thoughts of the film in real time, bucketed into these lists. I am not a fan of the movie, if you can't tell.

What I don’t like:
Music. Oh my god it’s horrible.
Godzilla’s design is not my favorite.
Deus Ex: Godzilla is trapped by a lucky Earthquake.
Young Don Frye controlling Gotengo.
Mutants: Designed to fight Godzilla.
Sum 41.
Don Frye can’t act at all.
Japanese actors are very cartoonish.
Composite shots range from not that great to jarringly bad.
Special effects are not consistent in quality.
Don Frye acting like an unnecessary hard ass.
Slow motion kung fu duel. What?
Caption cards (Locations) do not look professional.
Heavy handed moral plot and long monologues to explain it to the audience.
Biologist acts like a stereotypical "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!".
Mutant rivalry is very heavy handed.
M-base DNA. WTF.
The movie is green tinted.
Mothra twins from no where.
Deus Ex: Teleportation.
New York scene: Racism and over use of stereotypes.
Dubbed over swearing cop.
Zipping hat sounds.
Zilla looks less real than the 1998.
King Caesar looks like a dumbass.
"OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" Minilla. The transition from monsters fighting to Minilla is really bad considering all of the global action going on.
Mutant humans fight and defeat Ebirah which is at least 30 meters tall.
The tone of the film is very childish, un professional and cheesy. Like what I would expect a 10 year old kid to make in a film.
Wire work is awful. Way to floaty. Characters fly slowly in a straight line.
Terrible puns.
That awkward applause at UN meeting.

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.
