Just finished watching the entire series, and... wow... now that I've endured it, I never have to watch it again.

Most of the episodes were decently structured on paper, but totally bland in their writing and execution. Above all else, the acting was possibly the worst I've ever seen in a professionally produced television series.

With the exception of a few guest stars (notably the always enjoyably Jeffrey Combs and J.G. Hertzler), the performances were absolutely lifeless. Given such flat dialogue, it wouldn't be easy to construct engaging performances, but this cast wasted every minimal opportunity with which they were provided, and actually managed to make a lot of the bland expository dialogue even worse than the writing itself.

The worst offender, unforgivably, was Kane Kosugi in the lead role. He never seemed anything but bored and/or distracted.

Nothing - absolutely nothing - about this show entertained or engaged me in the slightest.

On the upside, whatever Ultra series I watch next is sure to look good by comparison.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.
