As for the whole "Criterion" issue, I'll be the first to admit that the price has held me back on at least a couple of their release's (I'd love to have "Robinson Crusoe on Mars", but I just can't justify the price) but if you are truly interested in "bang for the buck", they can't be beat. Hell, just the corrected translation and the wonderful commentary by Mr. Kalat make this a must own and worth every penny. Not to mention the BEAUTIFUL restoration job done and all the other extras. Personally, I've had copies of this film starting with the old "King of the Monsters" Vestron video disc through at least 2 VHS bootleg copies, the Scimitar release, and Classic Media's version, and Criterion's blows them all away. My question is, if redundancy is an issue, why bother getting anything beyond the old VHS or early boots? Yeah, I'll be the first to say that if it's a movie that you truly like, you can't get better than a Criterion release, imo.
