Game of Thrones

I can't be the only fan here of George R.R. Martin's epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire... or at the very least, I can't be the only person watching this great series adaptation on HBO.

If I am, you should really check this show out. It's very much going to require your attention, since there are a lot of characters and things taking place from the very beginning, but the payoff in the end is very much worth it! TRUST ME! These are my favorite books for a reason, and the HBO adaptation is very faithful to the source material. :D Be aware that the show is FULL of violence, language and sex/nudity.

Winter is coming...

I didn't have a problem with its quality, it's just I don't feel like I gained anything by watching it. I've only read the first book, but yeah..I'm just going to stick with them.

^ No way. There are more cliff hangers at the end of 3 than in the first two put together...

Book 4 is probably the weakest book because it only covers half of the characters and introduces a few new ones... For whatever reason GRRM decided to split book 4 into two books, but rather than split it up chronologically, he put half the character POVs in one book and the other half (arguably the more interesting half) in the other book... So this won't be an issue in the show since they can pull them back together chronologically.

But i think book 3 is widely considered the best in the series, so it should be a good couple of seasons.

I just finished Season 2 and while it was not as good as the first season, it was still quite good. Watching the ships burn in green was amazing. However, I am really pissed at them for leaving it on a damn cliffhanger. And why the hell is the third book being split into two seasons? Is it just to drag out the show before they run out of books? Nevertheless, I cannot believe they just leave it hanging when the White Walkers finally show up and Daenerys finally had a purpose this season (she is one of my favorite characters, but her story seemed absolutely pointless in this season other than killing off more of her supporters).

I absolutely love this show but I hate it at the same time.

The 3rd book is being split into 2 because it is 1500+ pages long. They even had trouble printing it because of its size. Its also jammed pack with story. More happens in the third than in either of the previous books. It is probably the best thing they could have done aside from giving us one long season.

the first season and the first book are very close, the second season cut a few things as well as a few characters that they will need to introduce in season 3, but overall they were pretty close...

There are the cliff hangers, though the big cliff hanger north of the wall at the end of Season 2 is actually the opening scene at the beginning of book 3
