I find that spoilers don't really matter. I mean, I often try to avoid them, but how many of your favorite movies, TV shows, and books improve with re-watches and re-reads? i.e. = after you already know exactly what's going to happen?
A story that collapses under the weight of already knowing the surprise revelation within isn't a very strong story. I love how Kurt Vonnegut would often reveal the whole plot in the first chapter, or even the preface!
