It's really very simple. Godzilla is a "territorial" animal protecting his turf from man and monster alike. There is no distinction in his so called "transformation". Still the same beast in my eyes and I'm sure from the the perspectives of Toho, he will always be one and the same. That's the only way to keep Godzilla relevant on every level. If Darabont doesn't realize this, he's missing a key aspect of the character and avoid any confusion.

People need to keep in mind that these are just concept drawings, and are currently not confirmed as official. These designs are totally subject to change and may even be scrapped altogether.

I say this because sometimes people take it the wrong way and assume "OMG THIS IS HOW HE'LL LOOK?!"

I've had a change of heart lately. Make him stand up right a little more, and I would totally be cool with that Godzilla. The other monsters have kinda grown on me as well.

I feel the eye tidbit adds to the persona of the creature. It makes him look like he indeed has been to hell and back. :D
