Personally, what I took away from the movie was to TURN! 180 DEGREES!
Anyway, I've always liked Final Wars. I don't deny that it's seriously flawed on several fronts - the plot, some of the monster costumes and some overly short fights, to name a few - but its high energy level endeared it to me from the start. I do wish it had given us more of the title character, but I think it at least tried to touch on all the aspects of his character over 50 years, which is nice - city destroyer, defender of Earth, nuclear product, and so on. I do have more fun watching GFW with others than I do alone, however. That's when it really takes off for me.
