Well I can tell you I would LOVE to see this bug kaiju-sized.

I know Megalon shares a lot of traits with this, but I would love to see this thing go head to head with Godzilla. :)

I'd be down with that. A proper aquatic kaiju would be cool too...something squid related or maybe something vaguely slug like as I've always found slugs unsettling...kind of why I think Namegon and Eleking are cool/ creepy

I wonder how much money they would get on the back end. ( millions? )

It seems their contract did not have guaranteed money on it. Like an NFL signing bonus. So they got cut from the team and feel like they did more. Aiy Nai!

I'm glad that they're doing a story focused on a soldier rather than remaking the original Godzilla.

I look forward to seeing what kind of original monsters they come up with. While I would have loved to have seen some other classic monsters get updated, Godzilla's rogues gallery didn't get as rich and plentiful as it is by always reusing older characters. With Edwards at the helm, I'm hopeful that these new beasts will be welcome additions.

Well, The Half-Century War story is told from a soldier's point of view, and it kicks ass. I know that's not a very good example, but hey, I don't think there's much to worry about just yet.
