Someone mentioned in another thread that the secret filming title for Godzilla while shooting in Hawaii is NAUTILUS. Well, after doing some quick research, I discovered there is a fish that lives in Hawaii called Nautilus.

Possible Godzilla foe for the film? Or just a coincidence.

My thinking was that it comes from the ship in Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. 20k Leagues -> 20k Fathoms -> Godzilla, if you get my drift. Not sure if that's a bridge too far, but it's what came to mind.

For what it's worth, I put a whole 10 seconds of thought into my earlier hypothesis. So even if I was overthinking a mere shooting title, at least I have a built-in time limit to spare you guys any further agony.

It's probably just a meaningless shooting title, as others have said. It's true that some shooting titles have actually , but those strike me as exceptional cases.

Yeah, it was just a quick finding.... not really research or anything. Funny though how the Nautilus fish lives in Hawaii. Probably means nothing.
