Scripts are really hard work to get just right. Once the script is locked, you've got one chance to make a good movie and if your script isn't very good, you could be doomed straight out of the gate. There's no going back once the film is done.

I'm kinda bummed about JGL not making it as lead. I've like most of what he's done so far.

In terms of all this producer nonsense, I don't think I am too worried on it's impact in Japan (the star of the show is one bigger than anyone in Hollywood :P ). I am worried on what happens between both WB and Legendary after this film.
