Maybe I need my eyes checked, but I don't think that, from that angle, the bulk looks much different from what it should. In fact, it looks almost like the proportions of the X-Plus.

Granted, I don't own the X-Plus. I could be wrong. But for me it's the front view that's worrisome.

I'm not seeing what you're seeing, Jim. The lower section of the X-Plus figure has considerably more bulk to it than the MA prototype.

Yeah, there's a lot more mass at the base of the X-Plus. The MonsterArt looks to be a taller sort of Biollante.

I suspect we'll see an improvement (whether it's sculpting or figure position) the real question has to revolve around whether or not the vines are all gonna break taking them out of the package.

This Biollante is not even close...the body proportion is more like the Ashinoko version, with the crocodile head replacing the bud. The base should be almost twice as wide. I want a Biollante, but I prefer one that looks like what it us supposed to look like.

Well this is a prototype so I suppose folks that are interested in Biollante, post on the Bluefin wall. They say the USA fans have a good amount of influence on the MonsterArts line.

Just looking at all the pics again, and what Legion posted for movie stills and promo pics, I would say there appears to be a little less bulk in the front. The mouth maybe should be a little bit longer, but it does look good.

As far as the vines breaking or whatever, well I wouldn't worry too much about those as they seem to have less segment sections than what the Ghidorah necks appeared to have. Plus they keep making the strength of the joints better in the tails and other things. Just looking at the Biollante figure, you see a very good showing of poses for each of the four vines. You probably attach them at the base (or else if you don't it will be a very, very large box for sure.

anndd I wonder if some customizers out there would make an entry point in the bottom to insert a small LED light so maybe the abdomen can light up like in the movie. :P The abdomen is more than likely translucent (like the Comic Con Goji).

yeah I was wondering also if that was that "Perfect Line" Bio Goji. That is a twelve inch figure, but if that were the case, then that Biollante would be really out of scale with the regular MA Goji.

I hope it's not that Godzilla. I don't need that big of a Biollante.
