Watching the classic animation retrospective on TCM. Gulliver's Travels is charming, if simple - but Mr. Bug Goes to Town is a revelation! Talk about being ahead of it's time! This early '40s film feels like animated films that wouldn't come out until decades later. There were moments of 'this is a bit like an '80s Don Bluth film,' 'this is a bit like the Brace Little Toaster,' and 'this is a bit like Pixar' all throughout the film

Just finished Frankenstein Created Woman. I like this one a great deal better than the last. Honestly it's second only to the original film.

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

^Is that the one where Dracula runs around and inadvertently runs into everything that's harmful to vampires?

Just finished Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed. Good stuff. Though I'm not sure if I like it or Frankenstein Created Woman more. I definitely still think the original is the best, though.

Not Quite Hollywood- It was a documentary featuring Ozplotian or Australlian Explotation films of the 70s and 80s. Was pretty good actually there's a lot of cool movies on there that I wouldn't mind seeing including Long Weekend, Dark Days which features a killer crocodile and Razorback which we all know about.

The Hole- Joe Dante's most recent film (released everywhere but the US until recently). Not a bad flick, but not great either. More detailed review in the Halloween 2012 thread.

Ghosts of Mars - I'll be honest: I only watched this movie because the premise reminded me of Doom, and because John Carpenter directed it. Surprisingly, despite (or maybe because of) how amazingly stupid it is, it's a guilty pleasure for me. The last 20 minutes or so are pretty cool, with the metal music and the guns and the Fist of the North Star rejects running around. Carpenter's obviously done better movies; still, it's not as if I'm watching a totally different director here. The movie's not something I'd care to watch very often, but I wouldn't hate you for putting it on while I'm around.
