I'll buy the Blu-Ray, then wait for the next batch to get the DVD with commentary (I was lookin' for an excuse to get both formats!).

I rarely listen to commentaries so it not being included initially isn't a deal breaker to me. If some of the other features still needed approval then I'd hold off on it.

There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

I think everyone should just focus back on the fact that we should be appreciative to have this release. All points of view seem to be valid, especially since the item is so relatively inexpensive.

Reasons to purchase on 12/4
1. Some fans have not seen this movie in many years and want to see it as soon as posisble.

2. Some fans dont view the lack of commentary as a deterrant

Reasons to wait until the commentary inclusion has been confirmed & Released to the public

1. Some fans view the lack of commentary as a deterrant and were really looking forward to it

2. Some fans want to save money

Then there is a 3rd group like myself that are choosing to purchase one in either format on release day, then purchase a second in the other format once the release is confirmed.

Then there are some crazy fans that are going to purchase every copy they can find. Gotta love their enthusiasm, but I cant make that much of a financial commitment. Then there's fans who dont like this film and wont be purchasing it all. But whatever your preferrences are, there dosen't seem to be a right/wrong better "way" of dealing with this situaiton, it all just comes down to personal preferrence
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

If you really want some behind the scenes info, and in Ed's own words, track down a copy of Japanese Giants #8. Literally 36 pages of information, no doubt a hell of a lot more than could fit into an audio commentary.

I know we where discussing this awhile back about a 4:3 version of Biollante but I just remembered there is one that exists; when the film first aired on Skinamax/HBO in the 90s it was 4:3 it wasn't letterboxed. So there is a 4:3 cut of the film out there somewhere.
