I watched Prometheus for the first time last night. I was curious about it mainly because of the ongoing discussion here. The movie was ok.
One question, how did they know where to land? I must have missed a bit of dialogue.
Just watched the deleted scenes, and it's a crime that almost all of these were left out. There's a much better flick with these than what was released theatrically. It fixes alot of what's wrong with character motivations, story flow, and pacing(as you've all mostly pointed out in the discussion so far). I think I prefer the "creature" geologist more than the zombified one, btw.
The only scene I thought that didn't fit at all was the alternate beginning with all those engineers. It's better thematically the way it is with just the one, as its just the one at the end. I also didn't care for how David was treated with being thrown so roughly into the bag, although I guess that's a statement to mirror the treatment of David by the crew is similar to the engineer hating on humans. It just seems a bit abrupt in tone compared to how the movie flows up to that point. I do rather like the talk about paradise.
I can definitely see a DC of this coming out in the future. I'd be game for it.
