As far as bare minimum requirements my list would be even briefer

-Mothra
-King Ghidorah.

I'd like one or two new kaiju, too, if it's not too much trouble.

Since the creative powers behind this new outing have stated that in their new movie universe Godzilla will be the only force powerful enough to combat other monsters, that right there would seem to strongly indicate that there will be more than one - beyond the primary villain. It would be nice, (although I'm unsure how fiscally practical, since I don't know how forthcoming Toho is/will be regarding licensing other kaiju from their stable), to have the new movie briefly discuss these "other" monsters discovered all over the planet - with either quick shots ...or perhaps a scene where we see a table with dozens of government files spread across it, each folder containing one or more photos of these other monsters. Then we could get a sort of easter egg, by having all the photos feature updated designs of classic G-series kaiju: Rodan, Mothra, Angillas, Gorosaurus, etc. That would make us hardcore fans happy, plus give a strong indication that if the first film warrants a sequel, that there could be some sort of DAM type situation in a future entry in the series.
