There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

has full listings for the Sci-Fi Channel from Jully 1994 up to the present! Definitely worth skimming through.

I didn't get Sci-Fi until 1999 or 2000, and by that point, they were already fading a bit. I still loved it though because it gave me a chance to tape GODZILLA VS. HEDORAH. The only thing worth watching on "Syfy" these days is an occasional TWILIGHT ZONE marathon.

By the way, it's quite possibly that's responsible for "killing" Sci-Fi. The line about cancelling MST3K in that article was obviously added by some disgruntled MSTie.

I remember when we got the scifi channel and cartoon network at right about the same time. I was the happiest kid ever. I used to get out of school, run home so I could watch dark shadows, mystery science theater 3000 and kolchak the night stalker. Then on the cartoon network they would play the hanna barbara godzilla cartoon which I never new existed. The 90s were awesome to be a kid!

Another reason to mourn for Syfy is the complete lack of tokusatsu films since 2007 (except one repeat of NEGADON some time after that). I skimmed through those Syfy Broadcast Archives a few months ago and noted nearly 30 live action Japanese films that aired from 1992 to 2007. If I included anime or series television, this list would be much, much longer.

Destroy All Monsters (Lbx)
Gamera (Sandy Frank)
Gamera: The Guardian of the Universe (Lbx)
Gamera vs. Barugon (Sandy Frank)
Gamera vs. Gaos (Sandy Frank)
Gamera vs. Guiron (Sandy Frank)
Gamera vs. Zigra (Sandy Frank)
GMK (US premiere)
Godzilla and Mothra: The Battle for Earth
Godzilla On Monster Island (US - replaced by lbx international version in '02)
Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (Lbx)
Godzilla vs. Hedorah (Lbx)
Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II
Godzilla vs. Megalon (US - replaced by lbx international version in '02)
Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (Lbx)
Godzilla vs. The Cosmic Monster (International - replaced by lbx international version in '02)
GUNHED (Lbx)
GXM (US premiere)
Invasion of the Neptune Men
King Kong Escapes
King Kong vs. Godzilla
Mothra
Prince of Space
Rebirth of Mothra
Rebirth of Mothra II
Rebirth of Mothra 3 (US premiere)
Terror Beneath the Sea
Zeram

As mentioned, they also showed NEGADON a few times, and the South Korean REPTILIAN was a fixture of the channel for a few years.

Incredible, huh?
