I had a feeling my comment would backfire.
All I was trying to say was that automatically dismissing this figure b/c it's not a tried and true classic hollow vinyl toy is just as bad as people who automatically dismiss anything that's not monsterarts. It's doing the SAME thing that you criticize monsterarts fanboys for.
Ebirah says this isn't a ground breaking figure, but my point was we don't know that yet. We don't actually know what this is yet and automatically dismissing it is just as close minded as automatically fawning over it just b/c it's tamashii.
I think it's obvious that I have very similar collecting tastes as Legion and Ebirahsmeg so I'm not trying to pick on them specifically, but i think there's a growing trend to pick some things apart just as a response to the irritatingly over zealous praise others have for certain toys. I DON'T think that over zealousness is very prominent here at clubtokyo (with the exception of one individual), and I DO feel like baggage is being carried over from another forum, whether it's intentional or not. Personally, I choose to avoid that forum for the very reason that I don't enjoy the childishness that seems prevalent there.
So yeah, some don't like the sculpt, which is fine. I think it looks pretty good and am curious to find out for sure exactly what kind of figure it is. I would be on board for a big articulated Bio-Goji if that's what it turns out to be (assuming the price is reasonable).
