Cool stuff. I'm afraid to cross over into vintage. Right now I collect for character/quality of figure, but I can see myself getting sucked into the sport of hunting vintage.

All this Guiron talk in the other thread and having a Revoltech Gyaos on the way, had me jonesing for some Guiron representation in my little Showa display. I almost bought the gashapon quite a number of times, and with this thought on the brain I went ahead with the impulse buy. Off to ebay I went and I found an auction that was for a whole set of 8 Gamera gashapons with Guiron shipped for only $9 bucks more than what I could buy just Guiron shipped in other auctions. So they arrived today!

Image

Guiron fits in nicely where I wanted him in my display. I had to touch up the one tooth because there was a speck of paint missing. It always seems to be the case that whenever I order a group of these things that the one I really wanted needs a touch up while the others are flawless. Anyway, that was easy enough, and I'm seriously considering adding a little paint to the ninja star detail on the sides of the head. What I really enjoy though happened entirely by accident. I noticed how cleanly and perfectly cut the Space Gyaos head is for assembly, and it makes for the perfect Guiron accessory.

The others are pretty much as pictured. The only other ones that I think really deserve mention are Jiger and Legion. Jiger was a pleasant suprise. The detail and color tones are very cool and really aren't done justice by pics. Likewise for Legion.

In anticipation of the R1 release of the movie, I've bagged some Zabogar gashapons. The one on the far left has boots that open up and have the 2 halves of the spy race car sitting within (not pictured because they are tiny and hard to deal with, ), and an alternate head with the helicopter spycam sitting on top.

So my G-Fest haul consisted of mostly Y-MSF figures (metallic Mechanikong with belt, Minya, a red Godzilla).. a Kaiyodo Gamera, a couple movies and art prints from Killustrator, Zornow and M. Frank and a G:Legends (awesome) sketch cover...

but the figure I found most interesting was this Mothra cocoon... I have no idea who made it, there are no markings, dates etc... it actually glows in the dark which was even more of a surprise considering how white the coloring is... any way its a soft rubber that comes with a cocoon, a rocky base and a single Mothra larva.

I am not sure if the Mothra is from the same maker, but I really have no idea where this thing came from so any info would be appreciated.

My no kaiju buying pledge didn't last long. Fell off the wagon!

So my Mothra'61 and Godzilla'89 have arrived awhile back but hadn't posted pics since I moved out to my new house. I left the X-Plus figures at my parents place since I don't have enough shelves at my new place yet.
The place is a mess....

Anyways... I did my best to snap some photos of my new figs and hopefully will move the remaining collection over to my new house soon. I also picked up the Crystal GMK and 6" Moguera repaint. Haven't gotten vinyl Bandai figs in awhile but I'll get pics of those later.

Without further aieu, here is the 30cm Bio-Godzilla'89 and 25cm Mothra'61. I like them and feel the G89 is an improvement over the 25cm version. Pics might not be the best due to poor lighting...
