Well a more realistic Godzilla means that either he cannot be hurt by most modern weapons or that he'll be blown away in the first semi-serious volley, which would reflect reality more than him being able to withstand the punishment that a military force can dish out. Don't forget that the idea behind GiNO was a more realistic Godzilla hence why those tank destroying missiles took it out so easily.
