While not ridiculously bummed, the lack of a straight DVD release leaves me a little bummed...not everyone has(or wants)a blue-ray player. Oh well, life is full of disappointments. :(

Blu-ray players don't cost near what they used to. A respectable blu-ray player can be had for around $60 - $80 much of time; catch a sale (particularly Black Friday) and you'll often see another $15-$20 off the regular prices.

Plus you don't need an HDTV to watch movies on a blu-ray player, my parents are using a 20" CRT television until they decide to upgrade to an HD television. Most, if not all, blu-ray players have coaxial and composite outputs besides the expected HD output options (double check before buying to be certain).

I'm working with Mill Creek on the upcoming DAIMAJIN Triple Feature Blu-ray set. I'll have a full report on SciFi Japan this week, but for now here's a better look at the final cover design...

OK. So the data blurb does confirm English language. However, it does not specify whether it is dubbing or subbing, so that doesn't really answer anything.

Also, Mill Creek is producing its own English DUB of the 3rd film??? Seriously? Or are they just doing new subtitles??? This last claim really has my guts in a knot. It would be amazing to have all 3 films dubbed, but I have a hard time believing a company would go to the expense of dubbing a 45 year-old film, given the shrinking market (at least if you believe everything you read & hear) for DVDs. But then of course I pray on bended knees that I am very, VERY wrong about that!!! :D

It's not so much the 45-year old film thing that amazes me as it is MILLCREEK...sounds like this company is trying to turn itself around.

There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

This is great news to hear coming back from G-FEST. Let's make sure these things sell great! Also I've very surprised to hear they actually did a new dub for the third film, I'm very interested to hear it and who dubbed it (perhaps they could have hired a company like Bang Zoom! to do it?... Here's hoping.).
