I saw this flick this weekend. Meh... it was ok. I wish they'd have picked something else other than the zombies. I love zombies but that genre has been pretty much played out. When you finally figure out what's going on I felt more like "oh... that's it?" than "wow!!!"

Yeah, I'll have to see it again before I can give a good opinion on the Madrid thing.

And that's a good theory about "Kevin"- Although I think they would have been fine just using the name "Jason" if that were the case- It's a generic name, so its not like they had to worry about copyright... I'll let you know if the CITW book has any info on good ol' Kevin.

And man, I don't even REMEMBER the raptor in the kitchen... I need to see this movie again and again and again apparently... not that that's a problem.

I'm going to go see this with my gf tomorrow. We're both really excited to see it since we've both been seeing so much hype. :)

Now that I am back in my apartment I can give a proper review. As noted earlier in this thread my expectations were for another stupid horror movie like most of the horror films to come out in recent years. I could not have been more wrong. This is a movie that makes love to the horror genre. Unless you have already been spoiled on the plot elements then this movie is not what you think it will be. It answers all the questions you have from other horror films on why characters do the dumb stuff that they do and it does it with grace and humor. Thats not to say this film doesn't have its scary moments. It has plenty of jump screams and creepy atmosphere that you expect from the genre but it still pokes fun at the cliches while taking itself seriously. I am planning on seeing this again either tomorrow or Friday. I missed the first few minutes of the film because of traffic but this was good enough to earn my money again. I can not wait till enough people have seen this film that I can openly start quoting it without spoiling things for people.

I loved the unicorn straight up murdering people. I now want to make a fantasy horror movie about a murderous unicorn.
