I've been meaning to contribute more, but I've been so caught up with my freelance work lately that everything else sort of fell by the wayside. I'm only now starting to catch up on all the writing I've been missing out on, as well as friends and family I've been tending poorly to, so forums kinda come after that. I guess I'm fulfilling my usual pattern of dissapearing for months on end only to pop back in every now and then. :\

I've actually been avoiding the Internet at night, since it pretty much robs time away from actual productivity and sleep. I usually post on MZ while at work, but that's been busy, too.

I didn't even know this. I have a hotmail account for here, but I'm guessing since I signed up forever ago it doesn't matter. What would it take to change that policy about e-mails?

I dunno, there's gotta be SOME sort of compromise though. There has to be. I can't imagine that limiting the influx of new members like this can be good for the future of the board.

I suspect the lurkers think about posting stuff, but decide that what they have to add isn't necessary or helpful or worth the effort. Many times I write a response post and then delete it deciding that what I have to add is not going to add to the discussion. Example: Venom thread in scifi movie forum; I was thinking of stating my opinion on the Venom character (hate it) but decided it doesn't add anything to the discussion so I deleted it without posting.

The email thing was a hurdle for me. I was in-between degrees when I got super into kaiju stuff and collecting again, so I couldn't sign up here until I got my new university email. Kind of a drag!
