Euro-Gamera

Spinning flame-jetted turtles, space birds being chopped up like bologna, kids in shorts screaming for help...the original Gamera series was a strange mix of wacky fun!! The 90's Gamera films set a standard that other kaiju films are measured against! Discuss Gamera films here!!

Wha? Free? I knew the Euro GOTU had techno, but I thought it was either a theatrical or video release. I mean, if they were just a bootleg/fan job, why would they bother with the techno? Wouldn't they just...erm, release it?

Anyway, while techno isn't how I'd want to view this movie for the first time, you do have to admit it's a pretty novel idea. But what exactly is "techno"? Are we talking like Divo techno, or like electronica/synth? Because personally, I hate Divo Image.

It may have been released priored to this to stores in the UK, but the first I ever heard of it was when it was included in some sort of anime magazine that always promises "A free movie on DVD every issue!"... so it was free but not a bootleg...

in fact Manga Video has the neatest "Do not copy this video" message I have ever seen! Instead of just legalize on a blue blackground.... the Gamera DVD had this little short film of a man trying to return a bootleg video to some shady video pirate selling his wares in an outdoor market and getting the shaft!

Darn, I wish you guys would'a said - I think I had a few samples of the new music for the UK version of Gamera: Guardian of the Universe.

Wait a tick, I think I still do - a cue that was added in for when Gamera toasts Gyaos once and for all at the end of the film. Now, if there were just some way I could host it for you guys to hear...
