There may be less actual physical media produced, but it isn't going to go away - it'll still be a specialty item (but that's probably further off than some predictions assume). I doubt Criterion will stop producing discs, but every TV show and movie may not make it onto physical media in the future. I think Godzilla and kaiju movies in general are rather safe in this regard: a smaller but devoted fanbase is exactly the kind of target audience for a specialty product. Things with only casual fans (even if it's a large number of people) will be in trouble.

I mean, kids today are getting back into vinyl records !

It would make a lot more sense though to have a DVD of this as well. IMO it would a larger target audience and get them more return income in the process.
