The audience that would buy into a toyline with things like the Gillman or Invisible Man isn't the same one that is going to pay attention to the Facebook page of a Japanese toy importer. Those polls reach a specific audience that don't want the same things you want. Spreading the word to horror fans might change that and at least give the options you prefer a fighting chance. Complaining about it here won't change one thing. Also, those characters are spoiled for choice. I'm not saying their options are better ones, but perhaps short of the Invisible Man, plenty exist.

I'm not advocating against your opinion either (I voted Kong) but I don't think telling us is going to encourage the preferences you want. This poll isn't the be-all, end-all either and Bluefin's running another one where we get to nominate additional characters.

Voice of reason man, voice of reason. Thanks I needed that. Just pisses me off because what you say is true. This poll is only polling a certain type of fan...I know there's a market for a Kong and Gillman figure out there (Invisible Man...not so much prob).

No problem man! Sometimes it's very cathartic to vent and get others' opinions.

The interesting thing about this poll is that I'd like to see a fair number of characters on this poll become a reality for a number of reasons. I mean, I wouldn't buy any Angels myself but there's more than a couple EVA fans who have bemoaned the pathetic lack of them in merchandise, so for their sake, why not? I would consider a Stay-Puft that Godzilla could fight - his other action figures are enormous, tiny brick figures, rare, or garbage that people are seeing literally rip itself apart (see Mattel's latest one). The one release that should be doing worse than Invisible Man is Gizmo, who has had a lot of representation from NECA.

Word. I agree. And obviously if you look at my avatar pic I'm rooting for the Gillman...but I'd like to see a lot of these figures too although I can only see myself buying the Gillman and Kong.

Also have seen a few people ask for a Rhedosaurus figure...I'd really like to see that and a Gorgo too.

There's a proxy poll being run by Famous Monsters of Filmland on their facebook page.

The results are interesting because that's a more Western monster oriented demographic as opposed to the JP figure collectors.

However the lower poll numbers are also indication that maybe a lot of monster/kaiju fans aren't interested in articulated monsters despite the large amount of fan activity on their page. They certainly have more fans and fan postings than us.

The other more obvious answer is that the product line is unfamiliar being that this is Japanese and that Bluefin and Tamashii Nations only started aggressively engaging the U.S./Canadian market in late 2010.

It's all very interesting data for us, but these public polls are only one of many factors used to evaluate marketability of products. Rest assured we have the best interests of the U.S. and Canadian markets and will push for products relevant to these regions and demographics.
