Oh, the ones screaming "RUINED" and "BOYCOTT".... :lol:

Yeah, the team-ups of the same cast and crew is something so many directors do. I've not seen all of them, (Burton's mob), and what little I've seen of Alice in Wonderland will probably prevent me from seeing it; I liked Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and found it to be closer to the book than the 70's version (that everyone loves, I'm just "ok" with it, but orange Oompa Loompas and their terrible song have always creeped me out)

Well, they certainly all are very heavily branded, that's for sure......again, homogenous.

One director I have always loved observing was David Lynch, (when he was making movies, that is) and his consistent use of the same cast and crew, from one movie/show to the next....and the literally wacked out things he could get actors to do, because they loved working with him that much.

(Now, a Lynch-made Dark Shadows....that would've been something to see, in spite of the fact that he would never do it in the first place, but Twin Peaks was at times evocative of DS, in its brooding atmosphere and over-the-top storylines and twists)

I have to say, I thought this movie was subpar. There were too many characters that had absolutely no relevance to the plot, and to be honest, Angelica was the only character I actually liked in the entire movie. The movie started out good, but that entire make out scene completely ripped me out of the mood and ruined the rest of the movie for me. And for a Tim Burton movie, I expected more. Outside of the house scene (those that have seen it will know what I mean) towards the end, there was nothing in here that even felt like a Burton movie.

Watching this movie now...it's every bit the Tim Burton cliche I expected. It's almost as bad as watching a Rob Zombie film comprised fully of hillbillys. Everyone looks like they just left a Marilyn Manson concert.
