Got my staples out today. All is good in the neighborhood.
PS - A super rare disease, the bane of the world of anesthesia, malignant hyperthermia, runs in my family. It's basically super rough customer, where you react violently to the general anesthetic...your body goes into overdrive and your metabolism goes along with it, to the point that you overheat and you need to be put into an ice bath so your blood doesn't boil and friccassee your brain.
So, instead of getting the gas, I got put under via IV, which is actually a lot cooler, because you have less nausea when you wake up.
Still, it's something I have to be aware of at the very least until they come up with a better test for it (the only reason I know it runs in the family is because it happened to an uncle), because the only test right now is that they cut out a 2cmX2cm section of your quad, which sounds PAINFUL and it's expensive, and insurance won't cover it.
