Damn Catwoman looks great. I really really wish they'd stop trying to "show off" the jigsaw Batman costume. As much as I love TDK, I really hate the suit. Why can't they have the cape drape over his shoulders like every incarnation of Batman ever?

Lol, yeah I don't like it either and for that exact reason. Nolan has nailed the looks of Two Face, the Joker and Bane. Not hot on his Catwoman and Batman though.

The Batman suit looks goofy as hell. It's too busy, the cape doesn't seem big enough and you're right, it should drape over the shoulders looking almost like he's wearing a coat at times.

And yes Kyle, this is nerd nit picky baffonary man but I don't care lol. I'm not saying this reflects on the film as a whole, but I do think we're ok in expressing our opinions on the looks of the suits outside of the film. In TDK, I didn't once go "that's an awful looking Batman suit" it's just Batman. Whatevs. But in stills and pics like that the suit looks horrid.

I think the perfect Batman suit has yet to be made in film as of yet. Maybe on the next go around.

I think a Batman suit is harder to get right than a lot of other heroes (not all, I don't want to be so bold as to declare ALL). If you go with the tights, nobody would buy his ability to do the things he does because Batman has no superpowers. Superman could wear a napkin with an S drawn in Crayola and he'd still be able to kick the ever-living crap out of people because he's Superman. So if you go with the tights, Batman doesn't come off to people as "badass" enough. But if you don't go with the tights, the suit either looks good but is wholly unbelievable in terms of mobility (Tim Burton's suit) or is wholly unbelievable in terms of practicality of putting it on (Nolan's suit).

Batman's an odd animal. Not like Spiderman who basically HAS to wear tights, or Superman who HAS to wear tights, or Iron Man who looks GOOD when overly armor-plated, or Hulk who wears nothing (btw, I love the new Avengers commercial I saw the other day where Cap says, "Hulk...smash!"

The Arkham City costume that these guys made I though was incredible.

And while I hate the Bat symbol and the belt is eh, this costume looks great on screen for those who have seen City of Scars

The Arkham City Batman's face cracks me up

I have no idea why anyone would ever need to make a face that dramatic

I always thought Mike Mignola's Victorian Batman costume (from Gotham by Gaslight) would make a great jumping off point for a live action Batman costume. Making the cape something like a trench coat looks really cool.

those suits still present the basic issue that Nolan tried to address of "how does Batman swivel his head?"

i honestly feel like there is no easy answer for Batman and no one right look.

with other heroes, specifically Superman, it has to be a certain way or it won't look right. I think Batman gives more room for creative liberties and that can present a situation, much like Godzilla, where no matter what, not everyone can or will be satisfied.

oh and debate over best fan-made batman costume begins and ends right here:

New Dark Knight trailer apparently going to be attached to Avengers, which is unsurprising. Supposedly new footage, but honestly I would have seen this with no footage at all to hype the film.

A new Prometheus trailer AND a new Batman trailer?! What a time to be a nerd.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8evyE9TuYk

I'm lovin it... also, looks like any issues with Bane's voice have been fixed. The movie looks utterly epic and badass.

PS- I'm now seeing people on nerd sites complaining that Bane's voice is NOW TOO CLEAR. WTF... god, I hate nerds sometimes.
