I really liked the "Six Forgotten Warriors" arc of the Spider-Man animated series in the '90s. It had Peter traveling to Russia, exploring his parents' history with SHIELD and it featured the series debut of Captain America and Electro.

As for this new Spider-Man film, I haven't been able to care since I saw the first trailer. The Lizard looks terrible and Andrew Garfield looks so wrong for the part of Peter Parker. This whole thing feels unnecessary. This will probably be the first Spidey movie I don't see in a theater.

Yeah, I guess I don't need it for more than one film, but if they don't go the SHIELD route or can't, then all that's left is some of the weird stuff from the Ultimate comics. Like Peter's dad having had a hand in creating Venom.
