Since any other Miyazaki thread that exited in this forum has long since disappeared I'm starting a new one - and, since it's obvious that polls don't get eaten and disappeared like other vulnerable threads here I've made it a rather straightforward poll (I love them all, and my preference is often simply the last one I watched, but Porco is most consistently my favorite).
So... in terms of news: Goro Miyazaki's latest film in Japan was apparently a big hit, the Ghibli version of The Borrowers will finally arrive on our shores soon, Miyazaki's next film is somewhere on the horizon, and I got the Nausicaa Blu-Ray for Christmas and it's awesome (that one's a bit more personal).
But one of the coolest bits of recent news is about US distribution: Disney retains the home video rights, but upstart distributor GKids has negotiated for the theatrical rights to most of the Ghibli films and will apparently make a big push for film festivals and limited releases. Their maiden voyage, a Ghibli Retrospective in NYC, is a big hit:
