Seems like a normal cycle here.

>Usual Monsterarts haters hate
>Usual Monsterarts lovers hate back
>Usual Monsterarts haters talk about how they don't waste money, and spend it on large vinyls for the same price
>Usual Monsterarts lovers say it isn't fair to compare

Same, usual Drama inducing Robotic "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" that happens every month, or near the time of a release.

And it's always the same people too. Always.

yeah I agree Shin and TripleMaster. Always the same folks. Those who keep coming in to a thread to stir up trouble, but I am not interested.

@ Meka...
I was saying to you that your desire for a certain price range was already there. Just that shipping moves it beyond that due to the weight. We would all love it if the shipping was cheaper. Alas, the way post offices run and declare they need x number of dollars to operate, we may never see any decreases.

Though funny thing about that...I remember not long ago that Hobby Link Japan had a flat shipping rate sale where you could buy a lot of items and pay just one price point. They begged (well my term) that customers go easy on them. It would be nice to see that sort of shipping again. I didn't order anything in that sale, but I know it must have been hilarious. I remember some people who did said they were delayed on receiving their orders due to that extraordinary sale. Hobby Link had to fork over the other costs not paid by the customer.

Yeah, I'd love it if HLJ would do that now that I do have some cash to drop.

I can't speak for everyone, but I think in particular Mekagojira and I have been pretty reasonable so far when stating our feelings on this line. We've both said that this line is amazing, but maybe not for us.

Still debating though...the Hesei series was my Godzilla series growing up. The Hesei kaiju have a special place in my heart, even though the Showa films are faaaar superior, I'll always see the Hesei Godzilla in my mind's eye when I think of the ideal Godzilla.

That being said, my collection would be crazy if I ever devle into this stuff...Showa Gamera and Hesei Godzilla collections, in most people's minds I'd be doing things all backwards lol.

Edit* And then I actually thought about how much money an entire Hesei set could cost. If they make EVERYTHING within reason which in my mind includes the following unannounced figures: Larval and Imago Mothra and Battra, Mecha-Ghidorah, Destroyer, Biollante, Godzilla JR...combined with the figures already announced or released including the Burning G...well, when you factor in shipping the price of all these by my estimates near 1000 bucks. That's almost 5 new car payments for me. I'll pass but look on in envy to those of you that do continue to collect this line :D

That Space Godzilla looks really nice. But i really have better priorities at the moment. In any case perhaps I'll get a Fire Rodan. But the one I want most....if I haven't made clear enough in the past is KING GHIDORAH! Where the heck is my big *uckin three-headed Golden Dragon. I need that!!! I want it!!

Hell I'll be able to land 120 bucks easy on the thing.

Ghidorah alone might be a reason for me to catch up on these by summer. I'll have to get him, and he's going to require a fair amount of cash, I'm sure.

If/ when, this line releases a Gargantua bros set, a FW Anguirus or a GMK Baragon I'll buy them on day one. I just know, if I get one Hesei figure I'll have to get them all lol

man Space Godzilla is a work of figure art....

I think the question has been answered as posed in the film of the same figure origins. When it was speculated how Space Godzilla came to be, it was pointed out that G-Cells could have been carried into space by either Mothra or Biollante. I believe those G-Cells were not true Goji cells, but I would think (looking at the structure of SG's head) that Space Godzilla is more Biollante in a different form. That more than likely, something of Biollante detached (as it was in celestial spark ember form) like the mini-Mothras in the S vs G film and became caught or attracted to certain energies. It became a being of its own origin.

Notice the head...

has the tusks, mouth extension tissue, mouth design and similar teeth. If it was more Goji, Space Godzilla would have been well like dino like. And that is the cultic fandom thought of the day. Take it with a grain of salt if need be, but just adding fan movie discussion in regarding the figure.

I love this pic...

looks similar pose to this movie poster look...

Man this guy looks amazing. I was already loving Godzilla and Mechagodzilla, but Spacegodzilla is easily the best yet. I'm hoping my preorder ships soon so I start seeing him for myself. I don't know why, but Spacegodzilla is just one of my favorite Heisei designs after Biollante and Mecha-King Ghidorah. He's also in need of a major update since the vinyls just let us all down.

With this kind of quality I'm really hoping they can crank out the entire Heisei line. Biollante is also in need of a huge update from the original standard version. I'm just glad I found these at the beginning instead of having to play catchup like I did with the entire vinyl line!

^ speaking of Biollante, as the articulation is improving, we can be assured of getting some good movement on the vine arms. As seen in the Space Godzilla blogs, the tail articulation has greatly improved over the first released Goji. With a bit more bending/arching we can get something close to the movie. It would look great with each vine arm having the opening mouth parts all lined with teeth. The Boillante front legs only have to move on the level of what the first Goji had. The base shouldn't do anything but rotate around like on a large ball joint. The neck area should have moving sections so Biollante can move back and forth. With a nice large mouth and a bit more height than Ultra-Act Eleking, it would be a nice figure. I only hope they chose to do the abdomen area with some clear type material and not all painted sculpt. That area needs a bit of good emphasizing.

Now here comes the "enthusiasm" (you are warned)...to make that abdomen really take off from a creative standpoint, they could have it light up with LED battery operated lights. I know it may add more to the cost, but hey a figure like that could be visually stunning.
