Just came back from it. Thought it was absolutely fantastic! The best new genre film since Scott Pilgrim vs. The World! Loved the Tharks, loved Woola, loved the framing story. I suppose there were some flaws. The "cave of gold" bit seemed a tad underdeveloped, but when the meal is great who cares if one of the rolls is overdone? (answer: the internet)
This is the kind of film I like: adventure. Not exactly action, nor thriller: adventure - preferably with swashbuckling. I enjoyed the two Sherlock Holmes film, flawed though they may be, because they did right by the kind of pulp adventure genre they were aiming for, but this film was much better.
