If they also make the regular non-converted version available, I'll go see that. I'm not interested in any post-converted film. Honestly I'm not that interested in any 3d at all...

Yeah I don't care about the 3D either, I just want to FINALLY see this film in a theater.

I saw it about 10 times in the theater when it came out and another time a couple years ago at a revival screening at the local arthouse theater... a great movie to see on the big screen. But I don't think it needs 3D and I think it might do just as good in theaters without it (WHY DO THEY NEVER DO RE-RELEASES ANYMORE? The Exorcist and Alien did very good in their re-releases a couple years ago).

And if the 3D is as bad as the Phantom Menace, I won't even bother.

Saw it in a theater last year, so won't bother with a crappy 3D convert.

Well good movies are hits all the time, so John Carter (which I haven't seen) didn't have the problem of "it bombed cuz it was bad"- And critically, it got mostly favorable reviews from critics.

It bombed because of wacky studio politics, awful advertising, and going way over budget.

And I don't think we're getting feathered dinos or gun-dinos in JP4. I don't know what we'll get but I think both of those things have pretty much officially been ruled out by the studio in the press.

What I want JP4 to be is a GOOD version of GINO... dinosaurs invading the cities, dinos vs the military, etc... its time to get off the damn island, and the last 20 minutes of JP2 didn't fulfill that enough.

I saw the 3-D version on Friday. Made a lengthy post about it in the recently watched movies thread. But yeah, I enjoyed it. It's not perfect and I wouldn't want 3-D to be the de-facto viewing format, but it was a fun experience for a one time viewing.

And I don't know about elsewhere but the theater I went to IS showing it in 2-D as well. It's just really limited (like one or two shows a day, in the early afernoon).

I saw JP 3-D today. It was glorious. Terrific entertainment and easily the best restro-fitted 3-D I have seen. Spielberg is so masterful at putting moving objects or people in the foreground that the conversion is naturalistic. While there are no "HEY LOOK AT THIS 3-D" moments, that does not diminish the conversion. It is, in fact, what makes it so terrific. The 3-D is not the reason to see the film. It is merely terrific icing on the cake. I say plunk down your $10 and enjoy this on the BIG screen, communally while you can.
God is in the details.

I saw it today and the film was good but sadly the theater I saw it in managed to screw up my viewing of it. The 3D was once again blurry and sometimes the picture looked out of focus.

Oh well at least I got to finally sit all the way through one of my all time favorite films on the big screen again. The first time it came out I was scared to see it all the way through in the theater.
