Greetings All,
I may be speaking out of ignorance here, but I am really beginnng to wonder if communication between Toho & MB is evn taking place any more? I mean since news first broke of the Legal issues with content on the DAM DVD, just before the street date of Megalon on 11/29/11, the only significant updates we had were that MB laid off 60% of its staff on 1/10/12, and Stuart Galbraith's Facebook postings on 2/3/12 about how he had not yet been paid by MB for his work on the Megalon DVD.
This begs a few questions:
1.How long does it take for Toho reps to review the contents of a DVD/Blu-Ray?
2.If they have provided an indemnification letter to MB how long should it take MB to respond?
3. IS MB ignoring Toho because either they refuse to make payment, or cannot afford to do so?
4. OR is Toho ignoring MB because they really dont care if this DVD/Blu-Ray gets released or not.
I would like to hope and believe that this project is still alive and well, and that until there is a public notice of "cancellation" from MB, that this product will come out. It just seems very unlikely at this time. It is sad because MB has provided so many great Toho films in the past decade or so. However from past experience with their anime titles, many of which are delayed by months at a time, and some have been ultimately cancelled, this eerily feels the same (minus the legal issues). I know the old saying is "no news is good news", but in this case, I dont think that is true. I just wish we had something, anything, even a generic "We are still in negotations with Toho" from MB to let fans know that both parties aren't just ignoring each other.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.
