Don't Be Afraid Of the Dark (2011 remake)

Guillermo del Toro teamed up with the always awesome Sideshow Collectibles for some creature figures based on Splice and Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. Not surprisingly they're pretty nice if I don't say so myself. Here's the prototypes.

Sigh, I only collect a few kaiju related things and a lil Kikaider stuff. But, these things look amazing!! If the Playstation store has Don't Be Afraid of the Dark for rent tomorow, I'm going to make a double feature of that film and Splice tomorrow after class. Screw hw. GDT comes first lol.

Be sure to check in and tell us what you thought about the movie (pretty sure you've seen Splice already)... Its biggest problem is that its a little too generic, but I still had a good time with it. The atmosphere of the movie is fantastic.

I'll probably hold out on getting the BD until I can get it used or cheap somewhere. I was hoping for a commentary with GDT and the director, but nope, no commentary (a GDT commentary for ANY movie is worth the price of the disk), just some standard EPK style featurettes. Splice was also a fairly bare bones release, but I didn't love this movie like I did Splice.

Yeah I saw Splice in theaters. Well, I respect the movie more than I love it lol. The first two thirds of it were perfect, but I felt like the film lost something when Dren went through her/ its sex change.

Still, I just checked, 7.99 for the blu-ray on Amazon. Gonna pick it up I think
