I don't think I'm sore about the style not being continued, even though I'd prefer that for this film.

I AM sore about Glenfire, and all of his magnificence, being left out of this adventure.

The four Ultra amigos and Belial's final form were the only things I really liked about the last movie. I kind of wish they'd bring back the three heroes from the last film instead of throwing in the two Hesei Ultramen

Bat Seijin's voice actor has been announced! It's Hideo Higashikokubaru!

...I have no idea who that is, but okay. I mostly just thought the announcement picture was amusing.

EDIT: Apparently he's a governor?

Also, the new opening for ULTRAMAN RETSUDEN has some Saga clips in it, including a brief sequence featuring Spheres chasing one of the SuperGUTS ships through a canyon on Mars! D8 There's also another short shot near the beginning showing Ultimate Zero flying through the awesome space crystal area that we can see at the beginning of the most recent trailer we've been discussing (where he's blowing up Legionoids). Basically, there's not much but what's there looks coooooooool. :D

Also, GOD I pray Ultimate Force Zero at least gets a cameo in Zero's universe before he is pulled into the film's main universe. It would be a shame for them to be entirely left out.

Booooooooooooooo, hiiiiiiiiiisssssssssssssss

This is the franchise that gave us Giigon and Mochiron, for crying out loud. Multiple flying boats and moon princesses descending from the sky while playing Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata on a flying grand piano! A monster that squeaks like a balloon when it waddles about! Space Cats. The Space Pirates! are right at home.

Speculation: I think a big part of the reason the Zero movie doesn't jive with a lot of people is that instead of the "FFFFFFFFFAUGH ACTION ACTION ACTION" of Ultra Galaxy Legends, Zero's approach is more like a fairy tale IN SPAAAAAAAAAAACE. I mean really, it is! Assembling a team of heroes, seeking a mysterious object to take out an equally mysterious and also terribly evil empire and all the wild and fantastic adventures that are to be had therein? It's totally a fairytale and within that fantastical framework (despite the spaceships, this is NOT a science fiction film!) the crazy-ass SPACE PIRATES OF FLAME and their inherent goofiness fit in perfectly. In a different sort of film, let's say ULTRAMAN THE NEXT IN SPAAAAAAAAACE, then, yeah, they'd work better as your typical tech-savvy, cyberpunk space pirates. For Ultraman Zero the Movie? I'LL TAKE THE CORSAIRS, THANKS.
