Sorry to hear about the MB layoffs..... and I guess Megalon is forever condemned to be held up in legal limbo. Oh well, at least they tried.

There were also some other versions of just Godzilla Vs Megalon without the MST3K treatment. One of which was from the Alpha Video label, whom also did most of the Showa Gamera films as well.

Of course the Megalon one was also not made with permission, so it was quickly pulled.

The Gamera stuff on the other hand can be still found at Half Price Books quite often.

Of course as soon as the Shout Factory stuff was anounced I got those out of my collection, since they looked aweful, just like the Megalon DVD. Kinda looked like they just took a really old VHS copy of the movies and made a disc menu & chapter stops.

BTW at a local HPB they had an entire endcap full of the Classic Media Godzilla releases on DVD, of course since I have all of them there was no interest for me.

Anyhow hopefully soon we will get some good news.
If not then by the end of January I will most likely cancel my pre-order for it and pick up something else from Deep Discount.

Is there anyway to contact Toho about this in the hopes of loosening some of the reins at least with Media Blasters (not completely of course and it depends on how much Media Blasters was responsible for the fiasco with Destroy All Monsters in terms of that what some of them have been saying is true about Media Blasters's actions).
