My only complaint is based on hilarious irony. I had simply assumed that Godzilla was going to be packaged the same way as the vast majority of most of Criterion's DVDs and BDs these days, in the clear plastic DVD and custom made clear BD cases with a standard cover art. What I intended to do was replace the default case with a clear six disc case so that I could include Criterion's BD, their two disc DVD, the two disc Classic Media DVD release, and my own DVD-R of various other extras related to the movie. This surprise packaging potentially dashes those plans to dust. :P

Ha! I didn't expect Criterion to do something so fun with their packaging!

As for why it's that particular Godzilla design: it was probably the best picture they hat that fit the mechanics of the design.

I like the Kiryu Goji...I just wish they would have used the 54' Goji. I was initially taken aback by it but....I guess its a new day and it doesn't seem so bad now
