The 6" figures came either carded with no sound or open face box with sound.
Only 6 different characters were made and no other toys were released for their Gamera line

So I made more room on my shelves by getting rid of a bunch of Ultra Q kaiju that I had no real attachment towards.

Setting some shelf space aside to collect a few of these figures that I've fallen in love with. The Jiger and Viras are f'n amazing, the Zigra isn't bad...and I'll probably get the Guiron/ Guillon too for sh*ts and giggles. I think I'm going to go for the versions without sound.

I feel horrible almost for dipping my toe into the Trendmasters pool...got to admit, while I liked the Godzilla line as a kid, I've looked down on Trendmasters for years now. Call it karma...but I have to get at least the Viras and Jiger.

I do have a question though....what's a good price to pay for carded, mint in box, versions of these figures? None on ebay really at the moment but I know they pop up all the time..

Speaking of re-imaginations, I really like these from Konami:

They came out long after TM was out of business, but I think these would have been that much cooler as action figures.

That's exactly what I'm talking about!!! I have and LOVE that set. I still prefer TM's Viras and Jiger oddly enough, I love my Konami Guiron, Viras, Barugon and especially the Zigra!

The Guiron is nearly perfect, although the legs need to be bulkier. But that's always how Guiron was supposed to be, bi-pedal, they just couldn't make it work with the original suit.

The Barugon is pretty awesome. Admitidly, Barugon is kind of a run of the mill design, just a lizard kaiju with a few spikes on his back...no where near as outlandish as Gamera's other foes, but Barugon looks great, without totally messing with his original design.

And then there's Zigra..wow! He actually looks like a scary a$$ shark! I hate Zigra on land so this design is perfect for me, it's the only Zigra I plan on owning (except for the Konami Figumate sd figure) unless he's ever brought back in a new film.

Viras looks pretty cool, I like him not having to human legs for a change, but the TM is way cooler.

Jiger...meh.

Gyaos and Gamera are actually the weakest figures of the bunch which is ok with me because we got such great updates of both those kaiju in the Hesei series.

Thanks for posting those pics btw!! I love my set!

Edit* For anyone that owns this set, does your Barugon have a weird paint job? The arms and legs on mine seem to have a totally different colored paint job than the body.
